Movin' On Up

We moved into our new apartment! It's in an ideal part of Dallas. We live right off of the Katy Trail and near way fun restaurants, cafes, custard stands, specialty shops...it's great! It's uplifting to see so many people out and about running on the trail and enjoying shopping.

Moving is such a process. I'm not a fan. Although most of our things are unpacked, I have yet to find storage for it all! The apartment is open and spacious making closet space nonexistent.

Deedee looooves the new apartment. She perches on a high step of the staircase and watches us or she sits in front of the glass door and watches for squirrels and such. Tillie seems to be a little restless in the new place. She barks every time the fridge makes noise or a door is shut in the complex. She doesn't do very well with the stairs, either. She has medially subluxated patellas (bad knees) and stairs are not ideal for her to climb up and down. Also, the staircase is open and the steps are spaced far apart so she gets scared and sometimes struggles. She's busted a few times and rolled down the stairs. However, she loves going for a walk in the neighborhood. There are a lot of other dog walkers and people around that she can say "Hi" to.

I've had fun dreaming of how to decorate our new apartment! It was an interesting decision, but I decided not to paint the citrus orange walls. Yep, that's right, orange it is. I think the dark furniture we have compliments the brightness pretty well and Mike had an awesome poster that I framed that has a toned down orangey-brown mixed with other fun colors that will make good accents. We are currently saving for a new dining room table and bed. After we get that, I will finally feel like a real grown up with furniture and not feel like I live in a college dorm. LOL. Everyone should come visit us! :)

Your new apt/neighborhood sounds so cool! You had me at custard stands and shopping...I love both! Can't wait to see it! And poor Tillie--hopefully she'll get used to those stairs!
